Institute of Food Safety, Animal Health and Environment “BIOR” is the institution which on the basis of Agreement concluded on 24 January 2013 performs the functions of the national contact point of the European Food Safety Authority (hereinafter referred to as EFSA) in Latvia. Scientific institute “BIOR” is a direct partner of cooperation of the European Food Safety Authority.
The national contact point of EFSA ensures information exchange and cooperation between institutions indicated in Article 36 of EFSA Regulation 178/2002/EK, as well as the popularisation of EFSA activities and work results as well as consulting and informing of interested persons about the areas of EFSA mission.
